Guided Learning Through Projects

New in 2026-27, Bit Space is offering multi-session classes to learn a combination of tools and techniques, earning authorization and Open Shop time along the way.

Each class uses a sequence of exercises and projects to teach students a specific set of skills to utilize part of Bit Space’s vast tool set: wood shop, laser cutter, 3d printers, electronics, coding, AI use, and more.

Turn Projects Into Progress

As students progress through classes and complete projects, they will earn Badges to show their increasing skills and ability to use those tools independently. They can consider these badges a license for independent tool use but as always, we prioritize safety, so Bit Space Guides are always present and guiding to ensure the safe and effective work.

Open Shop, Levelled Up

Every enrolled student can come in during another class on the same topic and continue work on their project to catch up on a missed week.

In addition, they can work on new, more independent projects as long as they’ve completed the authorization requirements for the tools they would need to use. To keep things from going totally haywire, independent projects are subject to the approval of Bit Space Guides.

Health and Safety

We have the following guidelines in place for everyone’s health and safety:

No open-toed shoes (this includes Crocs).

Masking is encouraged at BitSpace during high-dust activities to protect students from airborne particles in the workshop.

■ If your child shows any symptoms of illness (even mild symptoms), please cancel their session and stay home. You can join us in another OpenShop session during the season.
