Make It, Race It!

Welcome! In this course we will use design thinking and maker education practices to guide you through a project that you can use to lead your very own elective, genius hour, co-curricular, or after-school class. The course accompanies our guided curriculum with explicit instructions on tools, techniques, and concepts for educators teaching in an elective, co-curricular, or after-school setting.

Course Structure

After a quick intro, we’ll dive into safety and making basics before we get into the nitty-gritty of our vehicle project. Make It, Race It is broken down by weeks. Each week corresponds to a session in the classroom with students and is accompanied by a link to the corresponding lesson plan. Move through the course at the pace that feels best for you but note that in order to teach the tools and techniques covered, you will need to complete the project yourself. Plus you’ll have a chance to show off your handiwork to our community.
